Native women have made historic gains in political representation, creating new opportunities to elevate their voices and advance essential policy reforms. Economic security is foundational to Native women’s self-determination, physical safety, and community resilience. Yet, the enduring impacts of colonization and genocide have contributed to persistent economic inequities, leaving Native women facing one of the largest wage gaps and disproportionately high rates of violence.
As we recognize Native Women’s Equal Pay Day, we have an opportunity to harness this momentum to strengthen the economic security, safety, and sovereignty of Native women, their families, and Tribal nations. Join us for an impactful discussion exploring the drivers of wage disparities and economic insecurity for Native women, community-led solutions, and actionable strategies to advance Native women’s safety and self-determination by building their economic power.
